Is Your Worry Self Invited or Real?

Do you find yourself worrying more than normal, lately?

Do you desire to try and gain control of your worries?

I will list a few tips that you can incorporate to help you to stop worrying.

You should first process your thoughts and emotions and ask yourself, if your worries are self invited or if they are actually real? For example: If you are worried about making a decision because you are worried about what others will think, then that is a self invited worry and you can eliminate that worry by reminding yourself that you should make decisions based on your well being and not based on what others will think. Your desire to live up to others expectations, are self invited worries and not brought on by a real situation, but rather your thoughts on a particular situation.

Do you find yourself getting drawn into the depths of your thoughts about the perceived problem, instead of focusing on finding a solution for the problem? Typically, if you are focusing more on the problem vs finding a solution, then this is likely a situation where you should either seek to find a solution or decide if the problem is simply created within our minds out of fear or if there is actually a real problem.

If you find it difficult to find a solution to your problem, perhaps you should seek the advice of a trusted friend or family member. If this is not an option, perhaps you should seek a professional for coaching or guidance to help you through the process of worrying or stressing.

If you find yourself in the midst of a problem that creates worry, you should ask yourself, "Does worrying help me solve the problem?" "Does worrying change or eliminate the problem from my life?" If not, then try to find resources to help you with the problem. For example, if it's a bill that's due and you don't have the funds to cover it. then contact the company to set up a payment arrangement. That way you are able to solve the problem and relieve yourself of worrying.

Instead of worrying, it is always best to make sure you have a problem and are not just worrying out of the fear mechanism that you have set in place. If you have a problem, the objective should be to find a solution instead of worrying.

Remember worrying is like a fire set ablaze within us. When one becomes consumed with anxiety of the fear of something terrible happening, we begin to play out the most terrible outcomes and trick our minds into thinking that this is what will become our reality. Anxiety weakens us from the inside out. So instead of worrying, we should seek to try to reshift our minds into a new reality. Instead of fearing the worst, we could visualize the best case scenario for the outcome and work to make that happen instead.

Learn to train your mind to stop worrying. Stop seeing the glass half empty and learn to see it half full. Trust that The Universe is always making a way for you and all is already alright in your world.
