The Amazing Benefits of a Vegan Lifestyle

More and more people are transitioning to a vegan lifestyle each year. This is an amazing thing! There are so many health benefits that come with being vegan. Better quality of life, healthier living and sustainability of other life forms to name a few.

People have many different reasons for why they choose this lifestyle. It is important to decide that this is the lifestyle that you desire and outline your reasons why. Creating this foundation early on saves you from problems down the line. There are many people living "their" vegan lifestyle. Not everyone's views are the same and because of this others may criticize your choices. Decide what is acceptable on your journey and be okay even if it looks different from others.


Adopting a vegan lifestyle, especially one that is raw or plant based has many benefits. A raw diet, of course, is a diet where any fruit and/or veggies are consumed uncooked. For me, I also consume seeds, nuts and honey while consuming a raw diet. However, there are others that will not consume the latter for their own personal reasons. The amazing health benefits along with my ethical beliefs is why I will live the rest of my entire life as a vegan.

(1). My raw diet has taught me creativity

Consuming a vegan diet can be unsuccessful if you feel you have no options. My determination to make this lifestyle work forced me to be creative in the kitchen. I had to learn how to mix and match items together for a delicious taste so I won't get bored. I had to learn how to take beans and seeds and turn them into mock meat items to add variety. I've had to learn how to create my own vegan menus at restaurants by veganizing their items to fit my needs.

(2). My Vegan Lifestyle Has Helped Me Pin Point My Triggers

When you consume all types of foods it is hard to know what is causing you discomfort. Eliminating items such as meats, dairy and junk foods allowed me to see what was causing my body issues. Once I removed dairy my throat issues became almost nonexistent. Removing meat for me eliminated my headaches and water retention. Had I not removed these things the suspense might have still been there.

(3). My Excess Body Weight Melts Away

Fueling your body with proper foods makes it easier to maintain proper body weight. My vegan change along with consuming lots of water and exercise has allowed me to lose weight without much effort. No other lifestyle or diet has ever afforded me this. It is as if my body instinctively knows what to do. The saying is true that if you are good to your body it will be good to you.

(4). My Cravings Are Non Existent

Before my vegan lifestyle I over indulged in chocolate and dairy. Ice cream was my drug of choice and I had it almost daily. After my juicing detox to begin my transition I noticed my cravings were gone. I went from eating ice cream and chocolate daily, to consuming non dairy ice cream once every few months. I also do not crave breads like I use to. My taste buds have literally transformed.

(5). My Vegan Lifestyle Has Increased My Will Power

Being vegan can be challenging when it seems the whole world around you still eat meat. Being serious about this lifestyle has caused me to be more deliberate in my actions. Family functions can be challenging when you, almost always, have to bring your own food. It is easier to fall into the trap of eating what everyone else is having if you are not determined and prepared. Sitting in a room where everyone is consuming a dish that smells so delicious can be hard. But my reasons for why I choose to never consume meat products again are enough to keep me grounded.

(6). My Vegan Lifestyle Has Led Me On A Completely Different Career Path

Choosing a vegan lifestyle has given me a passion for life I never knew existed. I now eat, breathe and sleep health and wellness. I am so passionate about better health and living that I have now chosen a life path to help guide others. Being conscious of what you consume teaches you to value life on another level. There are no words to describe the feeling you get when you've coached someone to their success. The reward is knowing you've help change their life forever. Incorporating my lifestyle with my passion to create a business for myself has been a perk that I never could imagine and I couldn't be more thrilled.

I am still amazed at the changes that have taken place in my life. All stemming from my decision to become vegan. Making the leap was one of the hardest steps I've ever taken, but I couldn't be more proud of myself for doing so. These days I am more settled in my lifestyle and confident in my day to day life.

It is so wonderful to see how much I have changed in the course of a year. I've reached the place I use to believe was impossible. Due to my vegan lifestyle I have become healthier, happier and created a new career path for myself. If you are considering a vegan lifestyle, I say go for it! I can not say your journey will be like mine, but I know it will be worth it. Place one foot in front of the other and go in the direction of your vegan dreams. One beautiful step at a time!
